What is a Fire Risk Assessment?

The Regulatory Reform ( Fire Safety ) Order 2005 places duties on the responsible person to undertake and record a Fire Risk Assessment.

A Fire Risk Assessment is a document that demonstrates compliance with the legal Obligations to identify Fire Risks and ensure that appropriate precautions are in place to help prevent fire.

You will need a Fire Risk Assesment if:

You have a block of flats or a converted property with at least two apartments with a shared communal space.

You employ five or more people.

A licence under enactment is in force in relation to the premises.

A alteration notice is requiring a record to be made of those arrangements are in place in relation to the premises.

You own a holiday let, pub, restaurant or a HMO.

OUR FIRE RISK ASSESSORS WILL HELP ENSURE YOUR PREMISES ARE FULLY PROTECTED FROM THE THREAT OF FIRE.

The aim of the Fire Risk Assessment is :

*. To identify the Fire Risks

*  Identify people at risk

*. Evaluate the risks to eliminate or reduce the risk of those hazards causing harm to as low as possible.

*. To advise what passive and active Fire Precautions and management arrangements are necessary to ensure the safety of people in your premises if a fire does occur.

*. Ensure the responsible person records your significant findings to demonstrate to Regulators an assessment has been carried out

*. Review the Fire Risk Assessment on a regular basis especially if there are any process / staff or structural changes within the building.

Our fire risk assessments are in the PAS-79 format, this methodology is intended to provide a structured approach to Fire Risk Safety. Our reports are in a defined order, where the findings are listed and at the end of the report an action plan details the necessary steps you need to comply with the relevant Legislation and Standards. All of our reports are issued electronically in a PDF Format but as well as this hard copies are also available on request.
